Here is a view of Houghton and Hancock from inside the Mechanical Engineering building at MTU. You can see the draw bridge that connects the two cities.

I think your project is exciting thanks for putting our little town of Houghton on the map! I do need to mention that our bridge is not a "draw" bridge, but actually a "lift" bridge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portage_Lake_Lift_Bridge
Collaborative artists Mary Carothers and Sue Wrbican have used this blog to track the progress of freezing a 1978 Chevy Nova in a block of ice during January and February 2008. They worked with various groups of people such as students from Hancock High School and Michigan Technological University, the faculty and staff of MTU and government officials from the City of Houghton. The blog traces the ups and downs of bringing this project through its various stages towards completion.
